CRIB AND BASSINET SAFETY
1.Make sure the crib is sturdy.
2.Check age limits as well as weight restrictions. Do not use when the baby can roll over. Crib and bassinets should only be used with utmost care.
3.Don't rock the crib wildly. The baby can fall out.
TOY SAFETY
Toys can be very unsafe, choose toys that are right for the age of your baby. Keep toys with small parts, buttons, strings and screws away from the baby.
Toys should not be so small that they can put it in their mouths or swallow it.
Do not give babies toys with batteries, magnets, small wheels or fur that loosens up easily.
Always think of possible choking or strangulation.
OTHER IMPORTANT ISSUES
New-born babies should be in the shade all the time:
They can get sunburn a lot quicker than adults because their skins are thinner.
Sunscreen is not meant for use with new-born babies under 6 months old.
Never leave your baby in a hot car, not even for a few minutes, it is illegal and deadly.
Do not trust life jackets when kids are playing in the pool. Children always need adult supervision and at the pool it is critically important.
Make sure that steps are cleared when you carry your child and beware of slippery floors.
Be careful with party decorations, they might contain small pieces.
Balloons are very dangerous. Kids should only play with the under supervision.
Be sure to have a responsible person taking care of your children, install recording cameras if possible to ensure children are not molested.
The most common reason for injuries are falling. Be careful when you carry children or when they roll of beds and cribs. Hallways and stairs should be kept free of clutter and well lit
Be careful with tripping and slipping.
Keep in mind that babies and children are always prone to poisoning and choking.
Have smoke detectors installed in your house and keep the right fire extinguishers at hand.
